Saturday in DC

This morning, we got on the Metro to start our walking tour of D.C.

Our first stop, the Arlington Cemetery. One of daddy's ROTC friends in college was killed in Afghanistan on October 31, 2006. He wanted to pay his respects so we visited his grave. At one point, I heard mommy sniffling and think I even saw a tear in daddy's eye. Thank you for sacrificing your life for our great country; you are a TRUE American HERO!

From there, we crossed the Arlington Memorial Bridge to see the Lincoln Memorial. Oh yeah, did I tell you that I fell asleep while we were at the Arlington Cemetery? So, I didn't really see the Lincoln Memorial but mommy took a picture to document the occasion.

We walked down the reflecting pool to see the WWII memorial, Washington Monument, and then to the U.S. Capitol. Along the way, I did wake up only to need a diaper change and something to eat. We took a short break for me to have a picnic in the grass on the National Mall.

After the stop at the U.S. Capitol, mommy and daddy were hungry and mommy's feet were hurting, so we stopped for lunch at a little restaurant behind the Capitol; a great place to people watch. After lunch, we caught the metro and came back to our hotel. We were EXHAUSTED! We ordered pizza, salad and chicken wings for dinner. And finally, mommy and I were asleep by 7:15 pm. I'm not sure what time daddy crashed for the evening.
