Family in FL

As always, we enjoyed our visit with family while in FL for my 20 year reunion! Thanks grammy and papa for letting us stay with you and for watching CC while Nutz and I attended the reunion festivities.

20 Year Reunion

This past weekend was my 20 year high school reunion. It was a lot of planning (thanks, Marce) but was a fantastic time.

Enjoy the pics!

My Experiences

Okay, I stole this idea from Aunt Chris. So far, at the age of 2 years, I've done the following:

  • flown in an airplane (four times to FL, once to Chicago, and once to AZ)
  • ridden in a "Gator" with my granny
  • saw turkeys in the wild
  • seen a llama up-close and personal
  • ridden in the car from VA to FL (and back) NOT once but twice
  • visited the Nation's Capitol twice
  • walked (or at least from my stroller) from the Arlington Cemetery to the US Capitol
  • played/walked/swam in the ocean/bay
  • sailed on a sailboat
  • enjoyed the 4th of July fireworks with the barge only 150 yards away
  • ridden in a Jeep Wrangler with the top down
  • enjoyed an amusement park (Busch Gardens Williamsburg)
  • had breakfast at an Irish pub in Annapolis, MD
  • ridden in a hunting truck in Perry, FL
  • walked through Old Town Alexandria
  • ridden in a stagecoach in Tombstone, AZ
  • visited Mount Vernon
  • attended two baptisms
  • enjoyed the view of the York River from the battlefields of Yorktown
  • attended two weddings (flower girl in one)
  • attended three baby showers
  • attended a musical (Blue's Clues)
  • enjoyed a picnic dinner at the Iwo Jimo memorial
  • participated in several videoconferences with my daddy in another country and my papa (while in the hospital) in another state
  • ridden a pony
  • attended an oyster roast
  • celebrated the New Year at midnight, of course
  • hiked through a state park
  • attended a gun and knife show
  • attended a parade
  • visited the Outer Banks
  • met a celebrity (Steve Doocy from Fox and Friends)
  • attended a Beer Festival
  • enjoyed a picnic lunch along the Potomac River
  • slept in a Heavenly bed at Westin
Daddy, if you think of anything else, please add it!

Random Pictures

CC loves to take pictures. So, we decided to get her a camera: vtech Kidizoom. She loves it.

Here are some random pictures taken from the camera. I edited a couple using iPhoto to change the color to sepia...pretty cool.

Daddy's Little Girl

Well it appears that CC is a bit of a night owl like her father. We were recently away from our local settings sitting in a dark hotel room this past weekend. As to be expected, momma was comatose as how it was 845pm. CC and I were watching "Eagle Eye" and in the opening minutes there was a decent car chase. As two cars collided and erupted into flames, CC exclaimed "Oh wow!" Needless to say, she was hooked and stayed up with daddy until 1045pm watching TV. Bad daddy, bad! However as things would have it, the apple does not fall far from the tree. With 7 minutes of turning off all the lights, she was done... sweet dreams!

Trip to NoVA

This past weekend, mommy and daddy took me to NoVA, specifically Alexandria. Mommy was able to get a really good price at the Westin, so we stayed there. On Friday night, we had dinner at an Italian restaurant: I had yummy cheese and pepperoni pizza. After dinner, we went swimming in the hotel pool! I love the pool and daddy makes it so much fun.

On Saturday, we had breakfast, if you want to call it that, at the nearby Starbucks. For the record, I do NOT like organic chocolate milk. YUCK! Afterwards, daddy had some work to do so mommy and I enjoyed a nice walk in Old Town Alexandria. We ordered lunch at a local deli and took it back to the room. I was so tired that I took a nice long nap. I love blackout curtains. I wonder if mommy will get some for my room. When daddy returned, the three of us took another walk through Old Town in search of something good to eat. We had dinner at a local tapas restaurant; it was delicious. After dinner, we walked back to the hotel in the rain (not too bad) and enjoyed a swim in the pool before watching a movie with mommy and daddy.

Sunday morning we were up early to drive to Annapolis for breakfast before heading home via the Eastern Shore. When you see people waiting outside for the restaurant to open, you know it must be good. So, we ate breakfast at McGarvey's. Then we took a nice stroll around the harbor; mommy bought a couple of items at the Black and White store.

The trip was fun but I was glad to get home to my toys and my bed. Thanks mommy and daddy for a fun trip. Off to FL in a couple of days!

CC Playing "Dress up"

CC Singing the ABC Song

Crazy Crumbz Sings for Daddy

Ok, this is partly a race between mommy and daddy to see who posts this the quickest.
Crank the volume!

Needless to say we are proud parents and our little girl is growing, learning and talking up a storm. I would like to take credit with this as how she has not only my astonishing good looks and my superior intelligence, however momma told me she locked CC in the closet for a few days with the ABC song on repeat! You be the judge.... I think maybe it was momma superior intelligence?

4th of July

This year, we spent the 4th of July on grandpa's sailboat with Uncle Keith and Aunt Chandy. We left the marina Saturday morning and enjoyed a leisurely trip to "our spot" on the river in downtown. We hung out on the boat: eating, talking, drinking, and swimming for some. At 9:30, the fireworks started. And, did we have a GREAT seat! The fireworks barge was about 120 yards from the boat. Not only could we hear the fireworks taking off from the barge, we could feel the boom. There were also some fireworks that seemed to be pointed to the water. They skipped like rocks...very cool. This was my first time seeing fireworks and it was spectacular. I'm not sure how mommy and daddy are going to top this one. It was a late night for me but I enjoyed hanging out on the bow of the boat watching the fireworks as I snuggled in daddy's lap. Mommy and I slept in the cabin while daddy, Aunt Chandy, and Uncle Keith slept topside. I think Aunt Chandy came to the cabin during the night. We woke up this morning and headed back to the marine. In fact, we got back just before the rain started; perfect timing! We had a great time and I can't wait to do another overnight trip on the boat.

Super Excited

It's purely selfish on my part, but I'm SO VERY EXCITED that our good friends the Behr's will be moving back and that the Arana's will be staying. Can you believe we've known each other for almost 7 years?! Where has the time gone? I have so many GREAT memories with the two of you! Thank you for being such GREAT friends! I love you both!

I see a girls night out when you get back, Chris. The guys can do a daddy/daughter night. :-)

Enjoy the video. By no means does it include ALL of the hundreds of pictures I have of us through the years, but the pictures I chose hit the highlights!
