My Handsome Husband

No special reason...just wanted to tell Nutz that I love him.

Taco Night Pictures

Better late than never...check out the pictures from our last taco night.

Easter 2007

On Sunday, April 8, we had friends and family over for Easter. Check out the pics!

Nutz has a new job...

not really. We attended an open house on Sunday night for Studio Rio, a local exercise place. I swear, it really is good exercise. Anyways, while there, Nutz decided to do one of his famous handstands. It looks like he's done this before. :-)

A Sunday afternoon...

This past Sunday, we took Larry to the airport to leave for his short deployment. It makes the goodbyes so much easier when you have people with you.

Here are a few pictures from our afternoon.

  1. Chris and Larry
  2. Chris and Anne (yes, Chris had a nice BIG margarita)
  3. The girls lounging on the couch watching Flicka.

Taco Night at Casa de Nutz and Crackerz

On Saturday, March 24, we had a taco night for our good friend Larry (who will be going on a short deployment).

It was a small taco night (~28 people) compared to others...but a good time. As soon as I get the pictures downloaded from the camera, I'll share them with you. Until then...here are a couple.

Chris, Crackerz and Nutz
Larry and MJ
(They're both from exit 8A in NJ.)

Doctor's Appointment

I've hit the point where I'm going to the doctor every two weeks. Today was one of those visits.

So far, I've gained 21 pounds...according to Dr. Groves, "You're right on track". Crazy Crumbs has already turned and is in the head-down position. I had no idea babies turned this soon...okay, it's not that soon...10 weeks to go. :-o Both CC and I are doing well...I do have serious heartburn so food doesn't really appeal to me right now. However, I am eating...just trying to stay away from the spicy foods. How does raisin bran sound? :-)

More next time...

St. Patrick's Day

Some friends had a St. Patty's Day party on Saturday...of course, Nutz and I couldn't miss it.

To see all of the pictures go to my photo album.

Work in Progress...

Nutz has been busy working around the house. It started with painting Crazy Crumbs' room, tiling the guest bathroom, and now painting the guest bathroom. It's only taken us 4 years, but we've almost got all of the rooms in the house the way we want them. :-)

Here are some pics...

Nutz says we'll start potty training Crazy Crumbs immediately after her birth...NOTE: toilet in her room.

Can you identify the babies?

Here are two baby pictures...Nutz and Crackerz. Can you tell which one is Nutz? Crackerz?

Congratulations!

Congrats Chris, Amanda and Katie on your newest addition, Sean!

Nesting...Men?

I've heard that women start nesting when their pregnant...but men? We recently tiled our master bathroom and it looks great! Well last night, Nutz decided it would be a good time to start our guest bathroom. Mind you, I'm very appreciative. However, this is where I've been showering for the past month. The shower is much bigger and gives me more room to shave my legs and something to hold on to so I don't fall during the process. It will be interesting to see how I do in the small shower until he's finished.

Let's hope that he finishes this bathroom faster than the last. We both got the nasty flu last time and went without a toilet in our room for over a week. Needless to say, it wasn't fun! :-)

Thanks, Nutz for getting this project done. I have several more when you're finished. :-) I love you!!

Important Poems -- NOT Baby Related

Thanks, MB...very funny!

WOMAN'S POEM
Before I lay me down to sleep,
I pray for a man, who's not a creep,
One who's handsome, smart and strong.
One who loves to listen long,
One who thinks before he speaks,
One who'll call, not wait for weeks.
I pray he's gainfully employed,
When I spend his cash, won't be annoyed.
Pulls out my chair and opens my door,
Massages my back and begs to do more.
Oh! Send me a man who'll make love to my mind, Knows what to answer to
"how big is my behind?"
I pray that this man will love me to no end, And always be my very best
friend.

MAN'S POEM
I pray for a drop dead gorgeous
deaf-mute nymphomaniac with huge boobs
who owns a Bar on a golf course,
and loves to send me fishing and hunting.
This doesn't rhyme
and I don't give a shit.

It's getting close!

I guess this whole baby thing is for real...we're signed up to take some classes. The first class we'll take is a six-week course, "Prepared Childbirth." I hope they don't make me watch "the movie." I'll be sick. The second class is one night and it's "So You're Going to be a Dad." It's for dads-to-be but they invite mom to attend. Should be interesting. For those of you who know Nutz, the classes can only be filled with lots of entertainment.

If interested, Crazy Crumbs will be born (if all goes well) at Sentara Leigh and they have a really cool virtual tour. You'll need to use Internet Explorer in order for it to work (at least I did). If Nutz has his way, he'll be tailgating in the parking lot. I can see it now. :-)

Crazy Crumbs Nursery

Several people have asked me what colors we're putting in Crazy Crumbs' room. Here's a picture of the bedding that we'll be using (this was taken off the website and is not a picture of her room) and the cool ceiling fan and lamp. We've painted the walls a pretty light green (almost lime) and hung white sheer curtains. I'll take some pictures and post them for all to see.

Talk about literal translation....

Thanks, Marybeth. I needed a good chuckle this evening.

Circumcised
(this is priceless!)

A teacher noticed that a little boy at the back of the class was squirming around, scratching his crotch, and not paying attention. She went back to find out what was going on. He was quite embarrassed and whispered that he had just recently been circumcised and he was quite itchy.
The teacher told him to go down to the principal's office. He was to telephone his mother and ask her what he should do about it. He did it and returned to his class. Suddenly, there was a commotion at the back of the room. She went back to investigate only to find him sitting at his desk with his penis hanging out. "I thought I told you to call your mom!" she said. "I did," he said, "And she told me that if I could stick it out till noon, she'd come and pick me up from school."

Mystery friend...

As my pretty wife snoozes on the couch, finally, after a very long day! The crazy lady got up at 230am and stayed awake until just after dinner 8PM. Anyhow we have been chatting the past few days and Crackerz loves chatting about her friends, of which she has many. She also thinks that I know them all, have been introduced to them all and know all about them.
To make a long story short, she and I am at a loss as to the "Amy" that is a regular here on the blog. Amy in my opinion is a popular friend name for Crackerz. When I scroll through her cell phone and ask her who some of the people listed are, she says, "you met her or him back when I was really hammered, she held my hair back when I was yacking or hooked me up with some really hot guy!" That is Crackerz for ya!! So Amy, tell me a great story about Crackerz, I am sure our daughter will get a chuckle over it when she is old enough!

Congratulations!

Congratulations Sarah, Dave and Ben on your new arrival, Elena!

New Belly Pics!

It's amazing how fast your body changes. Here I am, 25 weeks pregnant, and people still can't really tell. However, I guess that's not a bad thing. I have several weeks left to grow! :-)

I wasn't feeling too professional at work so I went shopping on Monday and picked up some dresses at Ann Taylor Loft (my favorite non-maternity store). I was in luck, they had 3 dresses for a pregnant lady to wear. This is one of them.

Valentine's Day 2007

My sweet husband surprised me with a Valentine's Day date to the Virginia Symphony to see Romeo loves Juliet. Thanks Nutz! I had a great time last night.

While we were there, we ran into our good friends, Bonnie and Todd. Bonnie surprised Todd with an evening out!

Cute Girl Clothes!

I guess I never paid attention to how many cute outfits there are for little girls! Here are a few of my favorites. :-)

Dad-to-be

There's not much here about the dad-to-be, Nutz. So, here's a picture of the two of us. Nutz took me to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and the symphony for my birthday in December. Isn't he the best?

I love you Nutz!

The Mommy Test

Thanks for sharing, Jennifer.

I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that. "Why?" my daughter asked. "Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty and probably has germs" I replied. At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, "Mommy, how do you know all this stuff? You are so smart."

I was thinking quickly. "All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mommy Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mommy." We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information. "OH...I get it!" she beamed, "So if you don't pass the test you have to be the daddy." "Exactly" I replied back with a big smile on my face.

Another pic

Yes, I do wear clothes other than stretch pants and tank tops (but they are the most comfortable). Here's a belly picture taken last Saturday, February 3, before I attended a 2 year old's birthday party.

Picture of Crackerz Pregnant

Okay...here's what I look like (double chin and all). It's not my favorite picture, but what the heck!

A valentines day dream...

Little babygirl Crazy Crumbs comes home from first grade and tells her father that they learned about the history of Valentine's Day.

"Since Valentine's Day is for a Christian saint and we're Jewish (not really)
," she asks, "will God get mad at me for giving someone a valentine?"

Crazy Crumb's father thinks a bit, then says "No, I don't think God would get mad. Who do you want to give a Valentine to?"

"Osama Bin Laden," she says. "Why Osama Bin Laden?" her father asks in shock.

"Well," she says, "I thought that if a little American Jewish girl could have enough love to give Osama a Valentine, he might start to think that maybe we're not all bad, and maybe start loving people a little bit.

And if other kids saw what I did and sent Valentines to Osama, he'd love everyone a lot. And then he'd start going all over the place to tell everyone how much he loved them and how he didn't hate anyone anymore."

Her father's heart swells and he looks at his daughter with new found pride.

"Crazy Crumbs, that's the most wonderful thing I've ever heard."

"I know," Crazy Crumbs says, "and once that gets him out in the open, the Marines could shoot the f****r."

Clothes!

Here it is, week 23 of my pregnancy, and Crazy Crumbs already has a closet full of clothes. :-) I can't help myself. Instead of shopping for shoes, I now shop for cute girl clothes. Okay...I still shop for shoes, too.

We've decided to make the guest room into a nursery which means Nutz will lose his "extra" closet. I've started hanging her clothes and they look so tiny next to his clothes. So, there's no hiding what I buy. :-)

Great OB!

It's hard to find a great OB doctor, but thanks to my friend, Laura, I did. Dr. Groves is such a caring and compassionate doctor. Hopefully he'll be on call the day Crazy Crumbs decides to arrive.

New Belly Picture

Here I am...23 weeks and 5 days. Where does the time go? As you can tell, I still look like I've eaten too much bbq. Unless you know it, it's hard to tell that I'm pregnant!

I had a doctor's appointment last Tuesday and hadn't gained any weight for the month. I'm sure that had to do with the flu bug I had for 4 days. The doctor said that Crazy Crumbs is doing just fine!
